A Message To The Second Year Students

I have finished English Teaching Methodologies Ⅱand Ⅲ.I have many reflecyion and success. First,about English Teaching Methodologies Ⅱ,We used a textbook written about Second language acquisition in this class.This textbook was little difficult for me, but it can be used from now on as teaching English scene.It was written many elements for English teaching.In the end of class,Mr.Hall gave us an assignment about contents on the textbook.It were few questions,it were easy and difficult.So I read the textbook as many as possible to the assignment.Second year students need reading ability ,should read the textbook many times.If you can't answer the questions,it is good idea to think with your friends.
Second, about English Teaching Methodologies Ⅲ,We learned English grammar mainly.We formed ourselves in groups of five or six.Each of groups gave English tuition to us practically. Sometime some guests came to this class and we teached them English grammar.Assignments about this class were the blogging tasks.It were own opinion and reflection about the class.It was first thing for me,it was surprised,but it was very interesting!!This assignment's deadline was early.Because it was used at the class.So it was hard for me to make an blogging task.I had a part-time job and my computer didn't connect to the Internet.So I had to do assignments at the school library.If you hesitate whether or not you connect your computer to the Internet,you should connect to the Internet.And I advise the second year students to do assignments early.
Anyway,there were many devices in the both classes.It were interesting and useful for me.And both classes were important to be a good English teacher.
Lastly,I want to say gratitude to Mr.Hall.There were many mistakes in my assignments.Thank you for reading my assignments.And I would like to you my deepest gratitude for teaching English to us!!(>_<)

☆Good point☆
At introduction,they had pictures which written their names,their favorite characters,their telephone numbers.Those were very colorful and pretty.
At practicing pronunciation,there were few devices.
①First,we pronounced new words with a teacher.
②Second,we pronounced new words only ourselves.
③They increased their reading speed. 　
④They let us to pronounce new words every line.
And their short-play were unique and interesting.They changed their voices and identified with characters. It was very pretty and the way will be interesting for leaners.
At game, I enjoyed this game very much.Because this game was very interesting!!Each Group were set by any characters.My group was KUREYON SINCHAN.Hiromi,a member of my group,was identified with SINCHAN.She was very great!!We enjoyed it and introduced ourselves. The game like this was easy for leaners to remember how to say English.

☆Good points☆
First, their introduction had good devices.Yuka introduced herself and next she introduced Yukiko.Yukiko finished her introduction and she introduced Yukiko(Yagita).It was like baton passing.Generally,their introduction was slowly. It was easy for me to listen and understand.
At practicing pronunciation,first,they showed a new word in English,second they showed a meaning of a new word in Japanese.We could practice new words as we confirmed meanings in Japanese.This idea deeped our understanding.I thought Mr.Abdoreim could understand these new words,because he had known Japanese little.
And they did a short-play twice.First they showed a short-play,and after practicing pronunciation,they showed short-play again.This way is effective for getting new grammar.
At game,their game was very unique.Because each of us got a small paper.There was next person's name on the paper.So, I didn't know my given name until next person introduced me to other person. It was very interesting!!
☆Suggestion for an even better lesson☆
At practicing pronunciation, the cards were written letters only.I thought It was lacking and I want to see pictures.
And Mr.Abdoreim seemed to confused with He andShe.I thought he didn't understand He was a male and She was a female.So,team Y should have teach not only he but she.And they should focus their concentration on this point more.

I like Hangman. It was game we guessed letters of words each other.Whenever we mistake letters,Bar lines are written. The picture that was hanged have completed, loss!!Mr.Hall gave us hints what numbers the words has.He said this was a blogname in this class.This game was very interesting for me.At learning,this was helpful when leaners guess what letters apply to.
♪ ideas for practicing and introducing new grammar ♪
I think that Use pictures and.To use pictures is very effective for learning.It is easy for learners to image positive or negative.For example,If a smorking sign put a cross,it means "must not".If a smorking sign dosen't put a cross,it means "may".So,by a cross sign,learner can guess meaning of the sentence.

I like Matching game. Because this is like a quiz.Actually,I did this activity.And I enjoyed it.Students must answer as same as Mr,Hall.The process of win,students mistake.But students can remember by repeating the sentences.I think This activity is effective way.Because students answer desperately.The grace of this,student can get new grammar and new words easily.

I think Beehive is not effective. Does it mean all members pronounce at once?Certainly,this is practice.But It is not individual practice.So,It has a fault teachers can't notice if someone mistake.

I don't like Use dolls.But I think using dolls is a nice idea.Because the students like dolls,so it is interested for them.However,I think that is using dolls good for teaching new grammar.And I think using dolls doesn't operate directly.

Reflection on team A' lesson

☆Good point☆
First, their short-play was positive.They tought Mr.abdoreim on a one -to-one basis.It was very good point.I thought they confirmed his understanding by this way.So,they praised him when he said correct answers.It was good point too. This way was good for teachingside and learning side. Team A's lesson was the inductive Approach.First,they showed the examples.And they let us guess.Last,they explained grammars.I thought this idea deepened learner's understanding.And about " this is ~" and " that is ~" ,they showed this sentences by the distance and fingers."This is~"was used when they said it under their eyes."That is ~"was used when they said it toward over there.It was easy for learners to understand.And it was good gestures.
Next,team A used pictures effectively.They were very clearly and easy to understand. At practice that did with a partner,small card were very nice.By the grace of this practice,we could practice words and communicate with a partner.
☆Suggestions for an even Better Lesson☆
I thought pictures should be put "a" or "the" or "-s".The words of pictures was non.It is important to put articles, otherwise learner will confuse with it.

My Reflection...
1.Warm-up
First, we greeted everyone "Hello,How are you today?" and we introduced our selves.The beginning of greetings,everyone didn't respond to us. But gradually they responded to us.I thought the warm-up was good for lesson.And the introduction should be little longer. For example,"Hi!My name is Chiemi. I'm from Aomori.I'm twenty years old.My major is Elementary school education.Nice to meet you!"
2.Short-play
I took charge of the short-play about "Do you ～?".I said a part for the short-play slowly.I took care of my gesture.I moved as big as possible.
3.repetition
Keita said words slowly and he pronounced words toward Ms.Yoshida.This was good point.First,he pronounced words in order.Second,he pronounced at random.It was effective for study.
4.practice
We used the lot.By the grace of the lot,everyone didn't know which papers did I pull.I thought this idea was unique,so everyone would enjoyed it .And this practice's merit was practice with a partner.I thought understanding deepened more.
5.Game
I thought this game had the defect.When playing card,we pronounced the words.But we said only "Yes,I do."and didn't say "No,I don't."On the way,I noticed it.I thought we couldn't learn "No,I don't."So,we had should adopt "No,I don't."

What I particulary liked about team T's lesson was speaking Japanese after speaking English.If beginners dosen't understand English,This way will be useful for them.It will become easy for them to lissen English.It was a new idea for me.
In a short play, Toru and Tomohiro used gestures.For example,When Toru said "I'm toru.",he put his hand on his chest.I undersood that a short play was self introduction.Using gestures is a nice idea.
And they used copies,we answered two question.After that, we appliedthis answers to the conversation.And we pronunced the sentences again and again .Still better we practiced pronunciation with a partner. I thought learner's understanding became deeper.
Some suggestions for an even better lesson is having a lot time for thinking questions.We had known "Good morning" and "Good evening".So it is much time for us. But it will be a short time for beginners.I thought that I wanted much time for thinking. And team T let us raise our hands about questions.It is a little difficult for beginners.If beginners learn "Good morning" and "Good evening" at first,they will be nervous.
Another,team T should use items like pictures or paintings.It will be easy for beginners to understand English.It will become learner's understand deeper.
The last, I have the same idea that Mr.Hall has.In a short play, the conversation was too fast to lesson to English for beginners.It will be difficult for them to understand.More slowly conversation is necesary for them.

All of team T had a nice smile.They had a good job.I felt a good feeling.Thank you!

Junior High School Grammar

As a student...The grammatical element that I learn as a student easiest is " It～for～to".I still use this grammar a lot.This grammar is useful in speaking and writing.

Generally, It ia used like this.It is (was) A for B to C. A is the adjective or the adverb + the adjective mainly. B is the objective.For example, them, him, us, and so on.C is the verb.
The reason why I learn this grammar easiest is easy to use in daily conversation.For example, when I want to say "～しやすい" or "～しにくい", I often use this grammar .Another reason is that this grammar suits with the sentence has the long subject.
ex) Playing volleyball with my friend on every Sunday is very enjoyable.
→It is very enjoyable for me to play volleyball with my friend on every Sunday. better!!

What was most difficult to understand is　"不規則動詞の過去"
For example, eat-ate speak-spoke go-went take-took.
When I learned this grammar first, I confused with it. Because verbs I had learned by then put "-ed" behind. But these verbs are not. Besides there were verbs not changed.For example,cut-cut, put-put and so on. I have to learn hard these verbs.

As a teacher...The grammar I have confidence in teaching is SVOC. The point in teaching is that O(object) is equal C (complement).
For example, We call our dog Pochi.(The fifth sentence pattern)
In this sentence,our dog is the dog we have and the name of the dog is Pochi.So, our dog is equal Pochi.
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　Our dog (is) Pochi.(The second sentence pattern)
In the second sentence pattern, The stateverb is cut.The fifth sentence pattern slots the second. Basically, objective conplement in the fifth sentence pattern is as same as subejective complement in the second .I can teach as a teacher like this.

The grammar I have difficulty in teaching is 関係代名詞.It has the restictive use and non-restrictive use. I think these point is difficult in this grammar.It is easy to understand restrictive use. But non-restrictive use is a little difficult.This sentence has a comma.For that reason, how to translate this sentence is changed.It is a difficult point.And I think that there are many students who don't understand which relative pronoun they should. Which?Who?That?...? Especially,"That" is used in wide meaning.It will be difficult for me to teach　関係代名詞.

Assignment4:Refection on Sniffle's Lesson

What I particulary liked about sniffle's lesson is using handmade teaching materials.This group prepared a list written numbers and papers written Hyakuen or Jyuen.It is easy for me to understand.Another good point is the structure. First,there was a conversation. Second,they let us repeat words over and over again.Finally,they did test.For example,Shinichiro often said "How to say?" .As using a blackboard,they ask us what a number they pointed.I think this idea is easy to get words in my brain.
And Sniffle's pronunciation is very good!!! I want to follow their pronunciation.
The points They might do trying differently in the future is practicing words a slow pace. This time, we had already known words. For example, "a pen" and "one hundred" so on.If the learner dosen't know new words,he or she may confuse with this pace.I think that it may be better to practice words at a little slower.But, I think "speed up"idea is very good.

I agree with number 3.
It is about " What are the characteristics of comprehensible input?"
First, It is repetition.In Spanish class,we pronounced Spanish over and over again.It is helpful for me to remember new words.
And I agree with number 7 too.
1.Choose natural vocabulary groups.
2.Use the vocabulary in a way that is meaningful and comprehensible.
3.Design activities to test student's knowledge.
Especially, I think that number 3 is very good thing. Because I think that testing is good review.In Spanish class, after repeating new words, Mr.Hall said "Who is Abuela?" and "Who is Abuelo?" and so on.By the grace of this active,I comtemplated new words in my brain.
Which points of this lesson did you disagree or did not find helpful and why?
I disagree with number 9.
It is about "Use students as example"
In last class,Mr.Hall called on Tomohiro.Honestly speaking,I was nervous.Because I had fears that I 'm not sure if I can respond the correct answer.If we keep thinking like this,we can't think important and true answers.I think that student's thought is disturbed by this feeling.

My first Spanish class

1)How much of the presentation in Spanish did you understand ? What made the input comprehensible and what could have been done to make the language easier to understand?
I could understand the presentation in Spanish enough. First, I couldn't understand what Mr. Hall said and what he wrote. But I noticed that he spoke Spanish and he wrote his family tree.I have known that Masato was his son and through a line of his family tree, I knew that Miki was his wife, Jack was his father and Virginia is his mother and so on. At on time, Mr.Hall wrote Spanish on his fanily's name in English.So, I could understand they were words in Spanish.
Mr.Hall pronounced Spanish again and again while he was writing. And he let us to pronounce again and again. By the grace of this work, I noticed that "H" was unpronounced.
Finally, he let us to connect the lines from Spanish to English about his family.By the grace of this work,I learned Spanish by writing.I could deepened the understanding of words.
2)Did you learn any new words or new grammar in Spanish?
Yes, I did. I learned the names of the family. And I found common points. For example,the end of words was "a" or "o" or "e".Also, I noticed the words often have "mi ". Gradually,I understood "mi" was "my" in English.
3)How did you feel about beginning foreign language student?
I have not speak and listen to Spanish until this class. So, I felt that it was difficult to understand Spanish first. But I could understand it gradually. One of the reasons is that we image Japanese in our brain.I think that once we think what words they are in Japanese and next we think what words they are in foreign language.

1.My favorite English teacher was Mr. Hatai who was high school teacher in Hachinohe.He is still in his middle thirtieth.He was my home-room teacher ,When I was first grade in high school. He was very kind and cheerful.
He was a man of passion for education. He supported all students anytime.In my class, we was writing message on notebook.It was like KOUKANNOTE.It was very interesting and enjoyable.So he was liked many students. I was one of them.
2.This teacher was my favorite because he had ardor of English. So his class was very heated!!! It was a lot of fun for me to take his class. He let us to read the textbook over and over again. His teaching was very slowly and polite. And He was good at teaching grammar.It was easy for us to understand. For example, he translated a sentence by one line. He took a lot of time to teach conjuction and modifier. So we could understand the structure of sentences.Both students who like English and don't like English colud understand enough.By the grace of his help, I could read sentences rapidly. I thought that I liked English through his class.
3.As a teacher, my greatest strength will be talking with student's eyes. I hate talk to students from over. I can expose them same feeling. When they are happy, I am happy. When they are sad, I am sad.
4.As a teacher, my greatest weakness will be liable to disappoint anything. If there are bad happening in my school,my face is so dismal and I dropped my shoulders.
